A new customer recently asked us, “The cords were smooth at first, but after we replaced the bobbins, they became twisted and uneven. What caused this?”
This is a common issue for new users. In most cases, the machine is not faulty. The problem is caused by the yarn feeding direction.

The carriers on a braiding machine are usually marked with two different colors, such as red and green. When installing the bobbins, the two groups must feed the yarn in opposite directions. For example, if the yarn on the red carriers feeds from the right, the yarn on the green carriers should feed from the left.
If both groups feed the yarn in the same direction, the tension and twisting force may become unbalanced. The machine can still operate, but the finished cord may twist or have an uneven surface, affecting both its appearance and quality.
When a new machine is delivered, the bobbins are normally installed correctly. However, after the original yarn runs out, new users may focus only on the bobbin position and carrier color without checking the feeding direction. This small mistake can lead to poor-quality cords.
To avoid this problem, take a photo of the original bobbin arrangement before replacing them. You can also follow the installation pictures provided by us. After installation, check each carrier carefully and make sure the red and green groups feed the yarn in opposite directions.
Although this is only a small detail, it has a direct impact on cord quality. Before starting production, always check the bobbin installation and yarn feeding direction.
