How to Install and Adjust the Machine Head?

Once you have selected the right machine head for your production needs and mounted it on the machine, please follow the steps below to install it and carry out the initial yarn adjustment. Correct start-up adjustment is the key to smooth production later.

Step 1: Threading Path

After the machine head is firmly mounted on the machine, thread the yarn in the following top-to-bottom order:

First, pass the yarn through the ceramic eyelet above the machine.

Next, pass the yarn through the spring that provides tension.

Finally, feed the yarn from above into the inner bore of the machine head.

Step 2: Adjust the Spring Position and Tension

Adjust the spring (2) to a suitable position above the needle tips and make sure it keeps proper tension.

Purpose: This step is critical – it ensures that as the machine head rotates, the yarn is fed steadily and in an orderly way into the hook of every needle, preventing skipped or unstable yarn.

Step 3: Hooking the Yarn and Start-up Adjustment

This is the most skill-demanding step of the whole adjustment process, so please operate carefully.

1. Initial yarn hooking:

Turn the machine head slowly by hand. During the first and second revolutions, do not hook the yarn onto all of the needles.

The correct way is to hook the yarn onto only a small part of the needles first (for example, just 2-3 needles).

Why: The purpose is to tie a knot so that the rope end does not unravel.

2. Full yarn hooking:

After the machine has run slowly and steadily for a few revolutions, use a tool (such as a crochet hook or tweezers) to gradually hook the yarn onto all of the remaining needles, one after another.

Core operating rule: one yarn per hook

At all times, make sure that with every revolution of the machine head, each needle hook holds one and only one yarn.

Check: If you find two or more yarns in one hook (called “double yarn”), or no yarn at all (called “missed yarn”), both are abnormal conditions. They will cause defects in the braid and may even damage the needles or stop the machine. Stop the machine immediately and readjust the yarn.

Once all yarns are correctly hooked on the needles and the “one yarn per hook” rule is strictly followed, your machine head is fully adjusted. You can gradually increase the speed and start running normally and efficiently.

Why Can a Crochet Machine Also Produce Multicolor Cords?

In the cord industry, colorful cords are usually produced by braiding machines or fancy cord machines, while crochet machines are commonly used for solid-color tubular cords. However, with suitable yarns and feeding systems, crochet machines can also produce multicolor cords. 1. Using Variegated Yarn The simplest method is to use variegated, space-dyed, or mixed-color yarn. […]

Fine-Tuning the Finished Density and Dimensions

During production, if you find that the density or dimensions of the finished product deviate slightly from your expectations, you can make precise adjustments in the following two main ways. We recommend adjusting only one variable at a time, so that you can clearly judge the effect of each adjustment. Method 1: Fine-Tuning by Adjusting […]

How Is Water-Soluble Fishing Bait Mesh Made?

Water-soluble fishing bait mesh may look like a simple tubular net, but producing it requires the right machine, suitable yarn, and carefully adjusted knitting parameters. The mesh is designed to hold fishing bait together during filling and casting. Once it enters the water, the net gradually dissolves and releases the bait at the target location. […]
